Most people who read this page live in Dubai on a residence visa sponsored by an employer, a spouse or a parent, and carry a passport that needs a visa for Europe, Britain or America. Indian, Pakistani, Filipino, Bangladeshi and Nigerian nationals make up a big share of that group. For all of you, two things decide where your file goes: the country you plan to visit, and which emirate issued your residence visa. This guide covers both, quotes what the official checklists actually say about flights, lists the airlines at DXB and DWC, and explains how to get a reservation for AED 33. One thing up front: DummyTicketPrice works only online. We have no shop, desk or agent in Dubai.

|---|---|
| Airports | Dubai International (DXB) and Dubai World Central, Al Maktoum International (DWC), both run by Dubai Airports[11] |
| Germany (Schengen) | VFS Global Dubai takes files from residents of Dubai and the Northern Emirates; the German Consulate General in Dubai decides them[1] |
| Italy | Dubai and Northern Emirates residents go to the Italian Consulate General in Dubai, which works through VFS Global Dubai[6] |
| Netherlands (and Luxembourg) | VFS Global in Dubai or Abu Dhabi[4] |
| United Kingdom | VFS visa application centre in Wafi Mall, Umm Hurair 2[7] |
| United States | The mission says routine visa processing is not available in the UAE at present[9] |
| Residence visa rule (Germany) | Must stay valid at least three months past the end of the visa you ask for[2] |
| Our fee | AED 33 per passenger, one way or return |
Which visa centre will handle a Dubai resident?
It depends on the country, so take them one at a time.
Germany. The German missions in the UAE split applicants by emirate. If you live in Dubai or one of the Northern Emirates, you submit at VFS Global in Dubai; Abu Dhabi and Al Ain residents use the Abu Dhabi centre. Every file, wherever it is handed in, is examined and decided by the German Consulate General in Dubai, and the mission says processing can take up to 15 days.[1]
Italy. The Italian Embassy in Abu Dhabi only accepts tourist and business applicants whose UAE visa was issued by the Abu Dhabi government. It tells people living in Dubai and the Northern Emirates to contact the Consulate General in Dubai, which operates through the VFS Global office in Dubai.[6]
Netherlands. Netherlands Worldwide sends UAE residents to VFS Global in either Abu Dhabi or Dubai, and the same locations accept Schengen applications for Luxembourg.[4] Dutch files may go in half a year ahead at most, and no later than day 15 before your flight.[4]
United Kingdom. The British Embassy lists a VFS visa application centre at Wafi Mall in Umm Hurair 2.[7] Biometrics and documents go in there.
Our honest advice: book the appointment only after you have checked which centre your emirate belongs to. A Dubai address with an Abu Dhabi-issued residence visa is exactly the kind of detail that trips people up with Italy.
What must your UAE residence visa show?
For Germany, the checklists are specific. The tourism list carries this line in capitals: "IMPORTANT: valid UAE residence permit (valid at least three months from the date of expiry of the requested visa / intended end of journey)".[2] GCC nationals supply a copy of a valid Emirates ID instead.[2]
Here is how that plays out. Say your residence visa runs until 15 February, and you want ten days in Munich ending on 2 January. Add three months to 2 January and you reach 2 April, which is after your expiry date. On the checklist's terms, your permit is too short. Renew first, then apply. We see people order flights, pay for insurance and book hotels before noticing this, so check your residence visa date before anything else.
For the UK, the supporting-documents guide asks for "confirmation of legal residence, if you are not a national of the country in which you are applying".[8] In practice that is your residence visa and Emirates ID.
What do the checklists used in Dubai say about flights?
The wording differs a lot from one mission to the next. Here it is side by side.
| Country | Where a Dubai resident applies | Official wording on flights | What we suggest |
|---|---|---|---|
| Germany, tourism | VFS Dubai[1] | Under "Travel Itinerary including": "flight reservation"[2] | A held reservation matching your dates |
| Germany, family or friends visit | VFS Dubai[1] | Item 6, "Flight Reservation"[3] | Same; host's obligation letter matters more |
| Netherlands | VFS Dubai or Abu Dhabi[4] | "You do not need a paid travel ticket."[5] | A reservation in your own name |
| Italy | Consulate General Dubai via VFS Dubai[6] | Checklists are linked per category; we did not confirm the flight line in October 2026 | Follow the checklist you download |
| UK | VFS, Wafi Mall[7] | "flight bookings (unless transiting)" sit on a list of less useful evidence[8] | Usually leave it out |
| USA | Not available in the UAE at present[9] | Don't buy tickets before the visa is issued[10] | No booking needed |
Some lists you may be handed use words like "confirmed" or "paid". Trust that wording. What we supply is a reservation and no more, so a refundable fare protects you better there.
Appointment at VFS Dubai this week?
AED 33 per traveller, sent to your inbox in about 10 minutes, checkable on the airline's own site.
Can you get a US visa interview in Dubai right now?
Not for routine cases, according to the mission. Its visa page reads: "routine visa processing is not available in the United Arab Emirates at this time."[9] The same notice tells nonimmigrant applicants to book their interview at a US embassy or consulate in their country of residence or nationality, and reminds them that fees cannot be refunded or transferred.[9]
So an Indian engineer living in Jumeirah Village Circle would look at posts in India for now, and a Filipino accountant in Deira would look at Manila. Check the mission's page again before you decide, because this notice could change at any time.
Does a US application need a flight booking at all? No. The State Department warns against buying tickets until you hold the visa.[10] Spending AED 33 on a reservation for a US file is optional, and we would only do it if you want something to help you talk through your dates.
Which airlines fly from DXB and DWC?
Dubai Airports publishes a directory of carriers with the terminal each one uses.[12] A few that matter for visa itineraries:
- Emirates operates from Terminal 3, and flydubai from Terminals 2 and 3 as well as DWC.[12]
- European carriers such as Lufthansa, British Airways, KLM and Air France are listed at Terminal 1.[12]
- Home-country airlines used by many residents also appear: Air India, IndiGo, Pakistan International Airlines, Philippine Airlines, Cebu Pacific, Biman Bangladesh Airlines and Air Peace at Terminal 1, with Air India Express at Terminal 2.[12]
Pick a routing someone in Dubai would genuinely fly. Emirates nonstop to a European hub, or KLM and Lufthansa to their own bases, read naturally. A Dubai resident whose reservation starts in Mumbai raises a question you would then have to answer, so start from DXB unless you really are leaving from somewhere else.

Example: a nurse in Al Barsha planning Amsterdam
Take a Filipino nurse living in Al Barsha who wants eight days in the Netherlands in April. She applies at VFS in Dubai, which Netherlands Worldwide lists for UAE residents.[4] Her appointment is on 10 March.
Under the Dutch checklist, she needs a booking in her own name covering the journey into and back out of Schengen, and a ticket she has paid for is expressly not required.[5] We would order her reservation on 6 or 7 March, Dubai to Amsterdam and back, perhaps on KLM or Emirates. Her hotel booking, insurance and the hospital's leave letter all show the same dates. Once the visa arrives she buys whatever fare suits her, on any airline.
Example: an Indian family in Dubai Marina heading to Germany
Picture a couple from Kerala with two children, living in Dubai Marina, planning Munich and the Black Forest over winter break. They submit at VFS Dubai.[1]
The German tourism checklist gives them a clear list to work from: a hotel booking with full address and a flight reservation, plus an "NOL" letter from the UAE employer or sponsor.[2] The father's residence visa is fine, but the mother's expires in March, so they renew hers before applying. All four names go on one PNR, spelt exactly as in each passport. They choose Emirates DXB to Munich, out on 20 December and back on 3 January, and those dates appear on every other document too.
How do you order a reservation from Dubai?
- Work out your centre using the emirate rules above.
- Download the checklist for your visa type and read its flight line.
- Fill in our booking form with route, dates and each person's name copied letter for letter from their passport.
- Pay AED 33 per person by card through Razorpay. If you have an Indian bank account, UPI and netbanking work too.
- Watch your inbox for the PDF, normally around 10 minutes later.
- Look the PNR up yourself with the airline; see how to verify a reservation for the steps.

How close to the VFS appointment should you book?
A few days before, not weeks. Expect the hold to last 2 weeks at the very most; each airline fixes its own cut-off, and fares differ. Our rule of thumb for Dubai applicants is three to four days ahead of the appointment. If the consulate later asks for updated travel details, get a fresh reservation at that point rather than trying to stretch an old one.
Keep the wider calendar in mind as well. The European Commission's timetable puts the first possible filing date half a year before travel and the last one 15 days before it.[13] In Dubai, where appointments at busy times of year can be hard to get, many people secure a slot months ahead. That is sensible for the slot; just don't let it pull the flight reservation forward with it.
What should you carry to VFS in Dubai?
- The reservation printout, showing all travellers and both directions.
- Your residence visa and Emirates ID copies, checked against the three-month rule if you are applying to Germany.
- The employer's NOL or leave letter, with dates that match the flights.
- Hotel and insurance documents covering the same nights.
The evening before, open the booking on the airline's website once more. Airlines change schedules, and it is far easier to sort out a moved flight at home than at the counter in Wafi Mall.
Mistakes Dubai residents make
- Applying at the wrong centre for your emirate, especially with Italy.
- A residence visa that runs out too soon under Germany's three-month rule.
- Paying for a fare you cannot get back when the list only wants a reservation.
- Edited or "generated" PDFs that cannot be found on any airline system.
- Describing the reservation as a ticket anywhere in your file.
Dubai FAQ
Do you have an office in Dubai?
No. DummyTicketPrice is an internet-only service, so there is nowhere in Dubai to walk in, and we have no local agents. You place the order on our website, pay by card through Razorpay, and receive the reservation as a PDF by email, usually within about 10 minutes. Any print shop near your VFS centre can print it.
How much does it cost in dirhams?
AED 33 per passenger, and that covers a one-way or a return journey. A family of four therefore pays AED 132. Multi-city trips are priced for each pair of legs, and hotel reservations are charged separately per stay and per traveller. The price page shows the rate in other currencies.
I live in Sharjah but work in Dubai. Which German centre do I use?
The German missions sort applicants by where they live, and they group Sharjah with the other Northern Emirates. That means VFS Global in Dubai for you. If you lived in Abu Dhabi or Al Ain, you would go to the Abu Dhabi centre instead. Either way, the Consulate General in Dubai makes the decision.
Will the UK centre at Wafi Mall want a flight booking?
Usually not. The UK government's guide places flight bookings, unless you are only transiting, among the documents it considers less useful for a visit application. Put the effort into bank statements, your salary certificate and evidence of your life in the UAE. If you want to include a reservation anyway, label it clearly as a reservation.
My residence visa is being renewed. Can I still apply?
For Germany, the tourism checklist expects a valid UAE residence permit lasting at least three months beyond the visa you request. A permit mid-renewal may not satisfy that, so wait until the new one is stamped or issued. Other missions may phrase it differently, so check the specific list before you book anything.
Will Emirates let me fly on the reservation?
No. The PNR is genuine, yet nothing has been charged for the seat, so the check-in desk will turn it away. After the visa is granted, buy a proper ticket for the dates you intend to travel. You do not have to use the same airline or route as the reservation.
Can I pay with an Indian UPI app from Dubai?
Yes, if the UPI handle is linked to an Indian bank account. Razorpay also handles debit and credit card payments, plus Indian netbanking. We cannot take cash or bank transfers in dirhams, because the whole service runs online.
Ready for your Dubai appointment?
AED 33 a passenger, held on a real airline system, emailed in minutes.
Keep in mind: the consulate makes the decision, not the flight document. Describe what you submit as a reservation, keep its dates in line with everything else, and follow the checklist you were given over anything on this page.
