Lahore is Pakistan's second city and the hub for most of Punjab, yet several of the visas its residents want are decided somewhere else. The US consulate here gives no visa interviews, and Germany handles Punjab from Islamabad. What Lahore does have is a strong set of outsourced centres, and since September 2026 it carries extra weight for Italy. This page is for people living in Lahore and the surrounding districts, Pakistani or foreign. It maps each destination to the office that decides it, quotes or summarises the published flight requirements, explains how LHE fits into an itinerary, and shows the ordering steps. Can you get a US visa in Lahore?
No. The US Consulate General in Lahore represents Washington in Punjab, but its own page says the nearest visa services are at the American Embassy in Islamabad.[1] The mission's visa page lists Islamabad, for immigrant and nonimmigrant interviews, and Karachi, for nonimmigrant interviews only.[2] Most Lahore applicants pick Islamabad because it is closer by motorway or air.
The interview itself needs no flight paperwork. In Washington's guidance, visitors are told that buying a ticket should come after the visa, not before.[3] If you do take a reservation along, for example to show the fixed dates of a child's graduation, describe it as a reservation. Germany: why your file goes to Islamabad
Germany divides Pakistan by province. Its Islamabad embassy takes applicants from Islamabad Capital Territory, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Azad Jammu & Kashmir and Punjab, which includes Lahore.[4] You cannot book directly: you join a waiting list and receive confirmation when a final appointment has been set.[4] Registration is free, and the missions tell applicants to report anyone who asks for money to the police.[4]
Two lines on the German tourist checklist catch Lahore applicants out.
- Passports: all passports must be signed by the holder, and unsigned ones are described as invalid under Pakistani law.[5] Check your old passports too.
- Flight: although the heading reads "Flight reservation", the explanation below it requires "confirmed round trip tickets" for the entire length of your stay.[5]
That second line is stricter than a held booking. A reservation from us may not satisfy it, so ask the embassy what it accepts or consider a refundable fare. Our Germany visa guide covers the wider process.
Italy: Lahore now serves much of Punjab
This is the biggest recent change for Lahore. The Italian Embassy in Islamabad announced that, after upgrading its centres in Islamabad and Lahore, the Multan and Faisalabad centres would close permanently on 6 September 2026.[7] Since then, appointment bookings and waiting-list registrations are available only for the Islamabad and Lahore centres within the embassy's area.[7] Applicants who had used Multan or Faisalabad collect their passports through Lahore.[7]
Residence still decides the door you use. The embassy will only take a file at the centre whose area includes the place you permanently live.[6] Note that the embassy's "where to apply" page still listed Multan and Faisalabad when we checked; the later public notice is what reflects the closure.[6][7] Our Italy visa guide lists the documents.
BLS or VFS date confirmed in Lahore?
Get a held reservation for $9 per traveller, emailed as a PDF in roughly ten minutes.
The Netherlands, Finland and Canada in Lahore
Netherlands. VFS Lahore is one of the three Dutch centres in Pakistan, open to people living in Pakistan or Afghanistan.[8] Finnish Schengen applications can be lodged at the same Dutch locations, though Finland sets its own document list.[8] Each person needs a separate appointment and must attend, children included.[8] On flights, the Dutch tourism list is relaxed: an unpaid booking is fine.[9]
Canada. IRCC lists a visa application centre in Lahore, alongside Islamabad and Karachi.[10] You apply online and visit the centre for biometrics. A flight reservation is optional; see our Canada guide.

Coming in from Faisalabad, Multan, Gujranwala or Sialkot
Lahore now draws applicants from across central and southern Punjab, especially for Italy. If you live in Multan or Faisalabad and your Italian centre has just closed, Lahore or Islamabad is now the option, and Lahore is the passport collection point for files lodged at the closed centres.[7]
Two practical points for these applicants. First, your reservation does not have to start in Lahore. If you will really fly from Multan, Faisalabad or Sialkot, start it there, connecting as needed. Second, plan the trip to the appointment separately from the visa itinerary; it does not belong on the reservation unless you will fly it.

Foreign residents in Lahore
Lahore has a smaller expatriate community than Karachi or Islamabad, but foreign teachers, consultants, students and spouses of Pakistanis do apply from here. Residence in Pakistan or Afghanistan qualifies you for the Dutch centres; anyone resident somewhere else is sent to the page for that country.[8] For American visas, the mission lets you book in the country where you either live or hold citizenship.[2]
Example: an Afghan family settled in Lahore applying for the Netherlands can use VFS Lahore under the Dutch rule above. Afghan nationals should also look at the dedicated Afghan section of Germany's Pakistan website before registering for anything.[4] On the reservation, each name follows its own passport exactly.
Flights from Allama Iqbal International (LHE)
LHE is the natural starting point for Lahore residents. Emirates' route page, which spells the airport "Alama Iqbal", says it operates 10 flights a week between Lahore and Dubai, varying by season.[11] Thai Airways sells Lahore–Bangkok on its Pakistan website, a convenient itinerary for Thailand trips and onward Asian travel.[12]
For a Schengen file, a one-stop route through a Gulf hub or Istanbul looks entirely normal from Lahore. What matters is that the entry and exit dates match your form and the hotel bookings. Thailand's rules on onward travel are covered on our Thailand onward ticket page.
Lahore examples
A Gulberg software developer heading to a conference in Amsterdam. She books her own VFS Lahore slot, as the Dutch page asks, and three days before it orders a Lahore–Dubai–Amsterdam reservation in her name.[8] The conference registration, hotel and insurance carry the same dates. She buys a real ticket only after the visa is in her passport.
A Faisalabad family whose Italian centre has closed. They had planned to apply in Faisalabad for a summer trip to Rome. After the 6 September closure, they book at BLS-Intiana Lahore instead.[7] They check the current BLS tourism checklist before ordering anything; if a reservation is acceptable, they order one from Lahore, since they will drive there to fly.
A UK visit visa from Lahore
Many Lahore families apply for the UK, often to see relatives in Birmingham, Bradford or London. Here a flight document matters least of all. Britain's own advice on visitor evidence classes flight bookings as unhelpful for a visit file, transit cases apart.[13] Our view: the effort is far better spent on bank statements that make sense, a clear employer or business letter, and an honest account of the relatives you will stay with.
Sometimes a date really is fixed, such as a cousin's nikah in Manchester on a set Saturday. Then a reservation can help you explain the timing, and it does no harm provided the form calls it a reservation. Leave it out if it adds nothing; officers read the whole file, and a page with no purpose only lengthens it. Our UK visa guide sets out what the Home Office looks for.
The night before a Lahore appointment
A short routine saves most last-minute problems.
- Retrieve the PNR on the airline's website and make sure every name, date and flight still matches your form.
- Sign every passport you are submitting if Germany is involved, old ones included.
- Print one clean copy per applicant if the centre asks for separate document sets.
- Check the venue: BLS-Intiana for Italy, VFS for the Netherlands and Canada, Islamabad for Germany and the US.
If the airline has retimed a flight since you ordered, order a fresh reservation with the new times rather than handing in one that no longer agrees with your application.
When should Lahore applicants order?
A few days before your appointment, never on the day you join a waiting list. A held seat lasts two weeks at the outside, sometimes less, and the airline sets the exact period. Germany's waiting list and Italy's newly crowded Lahore centre can both mean long gaps between registration and submission, so order once the date is fixed. If it moves, order again.

- Identify the office: Islamabad for Germany and the US, Lahore for Italy, the Netherlands and Canada.
- Read the flight line on your checklist; settle Germany's confirmed-ticket wording first.

- Booking an Italian appointment at a closed centre or one outside your residence area.
- Unsigned old passports in a German file.
- Expecting a US interview in Lahore. Plan for Islamabad or Karachi.
- Paying for German waiting-list help. Registration costs nothing.
- Presenting the reservation at LHE check-in. Buy the real ticket first.

Does DummyTicketPrice have a Lahore office?
No. We operate entirely online, with no office in Lahore or any Pakistani city. Are the Italian visa centres in Multan and Faisalabad still open?
No. The Italian Embassy in Islamabad announced their permanent closure from 6 September 2026. Bookings and waiting-list registrations within the embassy's area now go to the Islamabad and Lahore centres, and passports for files lodged at the closed centres are returned through Lahore. Check the embassy's notices for any later change.
Where does a Lahore resident apply for a German Schengen visa?
At the German Embassy in Islamabad, which covers Punjab along with Islamabad Capital Territory, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and AJK. You register on a free online waiting list and receive an appointment later. The Karachi consulate is only for Sindh and Balochistan.
Can I interview for a US visitor visa in Lahore?
No. The US Consulate General in Lahore states that the closest visa services are at the embassy in Islamabad. The mission also lists Karachi for nonimmigrant interviews. You need no flight booking to attend, and official US guidance is to purchase travel only after the visa has been issued.
Is a held reservation enough for the Netherlands from Lahore?
Going by the Dutch tourism checklist, yes: it accepts a booking in your name and states that payment is not needed, which describes our held seat. Book a separate VFS Lahore appointment for each person yourself, and make sure the reservation's dates mirror those on the form and the hotel bookings.
My family lives in Sialkot. Must the reservation start in Lahore?
No. Start it from the airport you will really fly from. If you plan to depart from Sialkot, use that; if you will drive to Lahore and fly from LHE, start there. The visa office cares that the itinerary is consistent with your application, not which Punjab airport you choose.
