Dummy Flight Ticket with KLM PNR – Open It in My Trip

KLM visa reservations are unpaid holds on the Dutch airline, shown under a six-character booking code that opens in KLM's My Trip with the passenger's last name. It suits Schengen files that route through Amsterdam Schiphol. It costs $9 per passenger, or ₹699 from India, and arrives by email in about ten minutes.

First landing versus main destination

Flying KLM almost always means landing at Schiphol first. That does not make the Netherlands the country you apply to. Schengen applications go to the country where you will spend the most time, or where your main purpose lies; the first country you enter only decides things when the stays are equal.

Show how you move between countries too: a train, bus or short flight booking for the middle leg keeps the file coherent.

Opening the booking in My Trip

  1. Go to klm.com and choose My Trip.
  2. Enter the booking code from our PDF – six characters.
  3. Add the last name as written on the reservation, without titles such as MR or MRS.
  4. Confirm that every sector, date and name is correct. Report a mismatch to us straight away rather than editing the PDF.

Where a sector is operated by a partner such as Air France, the reservation names the operating carrier next to the flight number. Look at that line before filing, so you can explain the routing if asked.

Example: a Mumbai couple, Amsterdam in spring

Karan and Isha want ten days in the Netherlands from 2 May 2027, timed for the end of the tulip season. Their main destination is the Netherlands, so they book a reservation BOM → AMS on 2 May with the return on 12 May. Two names at ₹699 each come to ₹1,398. Their hotel bookings and travel insurance use the same dates.

Things that go wrong with KLM itineraries

  • Using a Flying Blue login. Your Flying Blue account only lists bookings tied to your membership number. A reservation made for you is reached through the booking code instead.
  • Choosing a long Schiphol stopover for no reason. A reservation that waits nine hours at AMS when a shorter connection exists can raise questions. Pick the routing you would really fly.
  • Return to a different Indian city. If you fly out of Mumbai and back into Delhi, say why in your cover letter.
  • Applying too late. Netherlands applications must be in at least 15 days before travel, so book the reservation close to the appointment, not on the day of the flight.

Price: $9 per passenger, or ₹699 from India, whether one way or return; the hold window is shown before payment. A KLM reservation is not a ticket and cannot be used at check-in.

KLM reservation FAQs

01How do I check a KLM reservation online?

Open My Trip on klm.com and enter the six-character booking code with the passenger's last name. The flights, dates and names should match your PDF.

02If I fly KLM via Amsterdam, must I apply for a Dutch visa?

Not necessarily. You apply to the Schengen country where you spend the most time or where your main purpose lies. Landing first at Schiphol only decides it when stays are equal.

03Does the Netherlands require a paid air ticket for a tourist visa?

No. According to the Netherlands' tourism visa checklist, a booking in the applicant's name for the trip into and out of Schengen is enough; the ticket need not be paid for.

04Is KLM in SkyTeam?

Yes. KLM is a SkyTeam member, and its main hub is Amsterdam Airport Schiphol.

Dummy ticket price by country

The price follows the country of your phone number, not the destination. One way and round trip cost the same; multi-city itineraries are priced per pair of flights and a hotel booking costs the same per stay.

Watch: how to book a dummy ticket

A short walkthrough of the booking page, 1 minute 23 seconds with voice-over: enter your route and passengers, pay, and receive your reservation with its PNR by email.

  1. Route and passengers. Choose one way, round trip or multi-city, pick the airports and dates, and enter names as on the passport.
  2. Pay. UPI, cards or netbanking through Razorpay.
  3. Receive your PNR. The reservation arrives by email in about 10 minutes.

Why a live reservation beats a free "ticket generator"

A generated ticket has no PNR. A visa officer who checks it finds nothing, and a refusal for a false document is the hardest kind to appeal.
