Morocco gives Indian travellers two ways in: an online e-Visa through the government's Accès Maroc portal, or a sticker visa from the Moroccan Embassy in New Delhi, lodged at BLS International. The two are not interchangeable. The e-Visa is short and single-entry; the embassy visa comes in single, multiple and one-year versions. And the embassy checklist asks for "Electronic tickets", which is stricter than many travellers expect. Here is what each route really asks for, with sources, and an honest view of when a held flight reservation helps.
Morocco visa key facts for Indian travellers
| Question | What the official source says |
|---|---|
| Do Indians need a visa? | Yes, on an ordinary passport. India's Ministry of External Affairs lists Morocco as offering Indians an e-Visa facility.[2] |
| e-Visa stay | The portal's confirmation reads: valid "for a single entry and a stay of 30 days maximum".[1] |
| e-Visa form | Asks for your expected date to arrive in and leave Morocco, type of accommodation, and attachments.[1] |
| Embassy visa flight item | "Electronic tickets" on the BLS tourist checklist for the Embassy of Morocco.[3] |
| Embassy visa fees (India) | Totals including BLS fee and GST: INR 7,269 single, INR 12,718 multiple, INR 17,078 one-year.[3][5] |
| Embassy processing | 7 to 10 business days from when the Embassy receives the file; varies case to case.[3] |
| Where to submit | BLS Morocco Visa Application Centres; walk in without an appointment during working hours.[4] |
Who needs a visa for Morocco?
Indian passport holders do. The MEA's visa table lists Morocco under countries giving Indians an e-Visa facility, without further remarks.[2] Many other nationalities don't need one at all for short trips. GOV.UK tells British visitors they can enter without a visa for up to 90 days for tourism, with a passport valid at least three months after arrival, and that extensions are requested at a Moroccan police station.[6]
Your own e-Visa eligibility is decided by the portal's eligibility checker. It asks for your nationality, country of residence, date of birth, passport type, reason for travel, and whether you hold another valid visa.[1] Some of its messages refer to a residence permit valid more than 180 days, or another multiple-entry visa valid more than 90 days, which suggests those conditions matter for some applicants.[1] We could not confirm on an official page exactly which conditions apply to Indians, so run the checker before you plan around the e-Visa.
e-Visa or embassy visa: which suits your trip?
| Point | e-Visa (Accès Maroc) | Embassy visa (BLS, New Delhi) |
|---|---|---|
| Entries and stay | Single entry, up to 30 days[1] | Single, multiple or one-year visa types[5] |
| Flight wording | Form asks for expected arrival and departure dates; we could not confirm the attachment list on an official page[1] | "Electronic tickets"[3] |
| Accommodation | Form asks for type of accommodation[1] | "Confirmed Hotel Booking", or a legalised invitation for family visits[3] |
| Money proof | Not confirmed on an official page | Last three months of bank statements, signed and stamped[3] |
| Fee | Shown on the portal at payment; not confirmed by us | INR 7,269 single, all-in[5] |
| Where a held reservation fits | Useful for fixing dates before you fill in the form | The checklist names e-tickets; a reservation may not satisfy it |
Our view: if the checker says you are eligible and you only need one entry for under a month, the e-Visa saves a trip to a visa centre. If you plan to hop over to Spain and come back, or stay longer, look at the embassy's multiple-entry option.
The embassy checklist, item by item
BLS International runs the Morocco Visa Application Centres in India. Its tourist visa checklist reads as follows:[3]
- Form: "Visa Application form duly type written".
- Passport: valid six months from the date you submit, with one blank page, plus a copy of the first and last pages.
- Photos: two, passport size, 4 x 3 cm on a white background.
- Cover letter: from you, with your profession details.
- Stay: "Confirmed Hotel Booking or Invitation letter duly legalized" for family visits, with a guarantee covering medical care and possible repatriation.
- Flights: "Electronic tickets".
- Bank: last three months' statement, signed and stamped by the bank.
The page adds that the Embassy may ask for more documents if required.[3] Note that the photograph cannot be the one already in your passport, and should be no more than six months old.[3]
Does Morocco accept a flight reservation?
For the embassy visa, we'd be cautious. "Electronic tickets" normally means issued tickets with ticket numbers, not a held booking.[3] A reservation may not satisfy that line. Before you submit, ask the BLS centre whether a reservation is accepted, or buy a refundable fare so a refusal does not cost you the full price.
For the e-Visa, the form needs your expected arrival and departure dates, and those dates must sit inside your passport's validity and the e-Visa's own limits.[1] A verifiable reservation is a good way to fix those dates while you wait for approval, without paying for flights you might have to change. Whether the portal then asks for a flight document as an attachment, and in what form, we could not confirm on an official page in October 2026.
In short: e-Visa applicants can use a reservation to plan and support their dates. Embassy applicants face wording that points to issued tickets; check first, and never label a reservation as a ticket.
What about check-in and arrival in Morocco?
An airline will check your visa or e-Visa before boarding, and you should carry the approval printout. GOV.UK reminds British travellers that a lost or stolen passport will lead to refused entry and that larger amounts of foreign currency must be declared; it also flags a polio vaccination certificate for arrivals from affected countries.[6]
We did not find an official Moroccan page setting a return-ticket rule for visitors at the border. That does not mean nobody will ask. If you are on a one-way fare, perhaps because you'll take the ferry to Spain, keep evidence of that onward leg. Our onward ticket page and check-in versus immigration guide go through the practical side.
Example: a two-week Morocco trip from Delhi
Say you are planning 13 nights: Casablanca, then Fes, the Sahara near Merzouga and Marrakech, flying out of Marrakech on 26 April. Because 13 nights is under 30 and you need one entry, the e-Visa looks right, if the checker confirms you're eligible.
- Run the eligibility checker on acces-maroc.ma with your real details.[1]
- Fix the dates. Arrive Casablanca 13 April, leave Marrakech 26 April. These are the dates you enter as expected arrival and departure.
- Hold your stays. Riads, a desert camp and a Marrakech hotel, each in your name, so you can state your accommodation type.
- Get a reservation if you aren't ready to buy. Delhi to Casablanca and Marrakech to Delhi, with names exactly as in passports.
- Verify it on the airline's site using our two-minute verification guide.
- Apply, then buy real tickets once approved, on the same dates if you can.
Had the same traveller wanted to pop into Spain mid-trip, the e-Visa's single entry would not cover the return to Morocco. That's when the embassy's multiple-entry visa, and its e-ticket requirement, comes into play.

Visiting family or friends in Morocco
If you are staying with someone rather than in a hotel, the embassy checklist allows an "Invitation letter duly legalized" in place of a hotel booking. Legalised here means apostilled or stamped by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the letter must include a guarantee to cover medical care and possible repatriation.[3] That is a heavier document than most people expect, and your host will need time to arrange it in Morocco before posting or scanning it to you.
For the e-Visa, the form asks you to choose your type of accommodation.[1] Pick the one that matches reality. If you will spend a week with a cousin in Rabat and three nights in a Chefchaouen guesthouse, say so, and keep both addresses ready for the arrival desk.
Combining Morocco with Spain or Portugal
Lots of travellers pair Morocco with southern Spain, often crossing by ferry between Tangier and Tarifa or Algeciras. Two things follow. First, the e-Visa is single entry, so Spain in the middle of the trip means a second Moroccan entry the e-Visa won't give you.[1] Second, Spain is in the Schengen area, so an Indian passport holder needs a Schengen visa for that leg, applied for separately with its own flight evidence. Our Schengen visa guide covers how consulates word the flight requirement.
Order matters. If Spain comes first and Morocco last, your Schengen file shows an exit to Morocco, and your Moroccan application shows an arrival from Spain and a flight home. A multi-city reservation that covers Delhi to Madrid, Malaga to Marrakech and Marrakech to Delhi keeps the story in one document.
If your plans change after the visa
Treat the dates in your application as a plan, not a promise. The e-Visa form will not accept an exit date beyond your passport's expiry, any residence permit, any supporting visa or the e-Visa's own validity, so the hard limits are built into the form.[1] Inside those limits, buy the tickets you will actually use and keep the stay within 30 days on the e-Visa.
What should your Morocco itinerary show?
- Arrival and departure dates that match what you typed into the e-Visa form or the embassy application.
- A stay of 30 days or less if you are on the e-Visa.[1]
- Each traveller named letter for letter as in their passport.
- Accommodation dates that cover each night in between.
- Passport validity that comfortably outlasts the trip: six months from submission for the embassy route.[3]
- A real booking reference that opens on the airline's website.
Things that trip up Morocco applicants
- Booking the e-Visa for a trip that needs two entries.
- Bringing a reservation where the checklist says e-tickets, without checking with BLS first.
- Using the passport photo again for the embassy form, which the photo rules forbid.[3]
- Turning up with card only. The tourist visa page says fees are paid in cash, though the how-to-apply page also mentions NEFT and demand drafts; carry cash to be safe.[3][4]
- Dates that don't line up across flights, riads and the form.
- Any fabricated or altered booking. We don't produce them.
When to apply and when to book
For the embassy route, BLS lists 7 to 10 business days from when the Embassy receives your file, and notes that satellite locations may take longer.[3] Submission is by walk-in, with no appointment needed, at centres in Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai and Kolkata.[3][4] Apply at least three weeks before travel and you have room for a request for more documents; BLS says those should ideally be submitted within 14 days.[4]
Our advice: place the reservation order a day or two before your BLS visit or e-Visa session. Each booking's hold period appears on screen before checkout. See when to book a reservation before an appointment for the reasoning.
Getting a verifiable reservation for Morocco
For Morocco we create a held booking in the airline's reservation system, with a real PNR in every traveller's name, on the dates and airports you enter. Retrieve it on the carrier's website to see it for yourself. Because the fare is never paid or ticketed, it is useless for boarding, and that is by design.
Cost is per person, the same for one flight or a return, while open-jaw trips like Casablanca in and Marrakech out count each two legs together. Settle it through Razorpay with UPI, a card or netbanking and expect an email around ten minutes later; the tracking page follows the order. Need somewhere to stay on paper too? Hotel bookings are charged per stay, per guest. All currencies are listed on the price page.
Fixing your Morocco dates?
A verifiable reservation in about 10 minutes. ₹699 / $9 per passenger.

Morocco visa FAQ
01Can Indians get a Morocco e-Visa?
India's Ministry of External Affairs lists Morocco as offering an e-Visa facility to Indian nationals. Eligibility is confirmed by the checker on the official Accès Maroc portal, which asks about your nationality, residence, passport type and any other valid visa you hold. Run it with your own details before you book anything non-refundable.
02How long can I stay on a Morocco e-Visa?
The portal's confirmation message says the e-Visa is valid for a single entry and a stay of 30 days at most. If you need longer, or want to leave and come back during the trip, the embassy route offers multiple-entry and one-year visas, applied for through BLS International in India.
03Does the Moroccan Embassy accept a flight reservation?
The BLS tourist checklist lists "Electronic tickets", which usually means issued tickets rather than a held booking. A reservation may not satisfy that. Ask the centre before submitting, or buy a refundable fare. If you submit a reservation, describe it accurately as a reservation, never as a ticket.
04What does the embassy visa cost in India?
BLS lists all-in totals, including its service fee and GST, of INR 7,269 for a single-entry visa, INR 12,718 for multiple entry and INR 17,078 for a one-year visa. The tourist visa page says fees are paid in cash. Rates follow exchange movements, so confirm on the day you apply.
05How long does the embassy take?
The BLS tourist page gives 7 to 10 business days from when the Embassy of Morocco receives the application, adding that it varies from case to case. Files lodged at satellite centres may take longer. The how-to-apply page also asks that any missing documents be supplied, ideally, within 14 days.
06Do I need a return ticket to enter Morocco?
We found no official Moroccan page setting a return-ticket rule at the border for visitors. Officers and airlines can still ask how you will leave. Carry your purchased return or onward booking, including ferry tickets if you are crossing to Spain, along with your visa approval and accommodation details.
07When should I get my reservation?
A day or two before you fill in the e-Visa form or walk into BLS. You'll see how long each booking is held before you pay us. Booking weeks ahead risks it lapsing before anyone looks at it, and you will be buying real tickets once the visa is granted anyway.
