Jaipur sends people abroad for every reason you can think of: gem traders off to trade fairs, students heading to Canada, families visiting children in the UK, and workers from across Rajasthan taking jobs in the Gulf. Each of those trips has a different paperwork route, and the flight document means something different in each. Below we go through which embassies cover Rajasthan, what their checklists actually say about flights, the special rule for ECR passports, and the routes that leave from Sanganer. Which embassy decides your visa if you live in Rajasthan?
For most countries, a mission in New Delhi. Jaipur has VFS centres but no visa-issuing embassies, so your file is either submitted locally and sent on, or submitted in Delhi.
United States. The US Embassy in New Delhi serves Rajasthan, along with Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and other northern states.[1] Your interview will be in Delhi.
Germany. It depends on the visa. For long stays such as study or work, Rajasthan belongs to the German Embassy New Delhi's district.[3] For a short Schengen trip, Germany lets you lodge the application at whichever Indian VFS centre suits you; officers in Mumbai then decide every one of those files.[4]
Czech Republic. Its embassy publishes a list of VFS centres, and Jaipur (C Scheme) is on it.[6] That is handy for a Prague-led trip.
Netherlands. The Dutch list of VFS cities in India does not include Jaipur. It names New Delhi, Ahmedabad and ten others.[7] For a Dutch-led trip, plan a day in Delhi.
For any other country, open that country's India visa page and check which centres it names. Do not assume a Jaipur centre serves your destination just because it serves another one.
What do the checklists say about flights?
Here is the official wording that matters for the trips Jaipur residents make most often.

Germany's note deserves a second look. It tells you that paying for flights early does not speed up your file.[5] That is the clearest official signal you will find that a reservation, not a purchase, is what the consulate expects at the application stage.

Going to the Gulf on an ECR passport: the return-ticket rule
This section matters to a lot of Rajasthan families. If your passport carries ECR (Emigration Check Required) status and you are going to one of the listed countries on a visit, residence or study visa rather than for a job, the Ministry of External Affairs says you can travel by producing a valid passport, a valid visa and a "Return Ticket".[11] The listed countries include the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman and Bahrain, as well as Malaysia and Thailand.[11]
Our honest advice: for this check, buy a real return ticket. The MEA wording names a return ticket, and what we sell is only a hold on seats. An emigration officer at Jaipur could reasonably reject it, and no airline will check you in on it. If you are going for employment, the visit-visa route does not apply at all; you need emigration clearance through the proper process.[11]

Routes from Jaipur International Airport
Jaipur's international flights point mostly west, to the Gulf. Air India Express says it serves confirmed international routes from Jaipur to Dubai, Sharjah and Abu Dhabi, plus Bangkok, and also confirms Muscat.[13] Its broader network from Jaipur reaches Jeddah, Riyadh, Doha, Kuwait City and Kathmandu, though the airline asks you to confirm availability before booking.[13]
Bangkok is the other route Jaipur travellers ask about, often for a short holiday. Thailand is also on the MEA's ECR list,[11] so the return-ticket point above applies to ECR passport holders visiting on a non-work visa. For Europe, North America or the UK there is no direct flight from Jaipur, so a reservation will normally show a connection. Two patterns look natural:
- Through Delhi: a domestic hop to DEL, then an international sector from there.
- Through a Gulf hub: Jaipur to Dubai, Abu Dhabi or Doha, then onward to Europe.
Either is fine. What the consulate cares about is that the dates into and out of your destination match the form, the hotel and the insurance.
Example: a C Scheme couple planning Germany and Austria
Suppose a couple in C Scheme plan nine days in Munich and Salzburg in May, with more nights in Germany. Germany is the main destination, so they apply for a German Schengen visa. Because Germany accepts applications at any VFS centre in India,[4] they check VFS's Germany booking page for a Jaipur slot first and fall back on Delhi if none is offered.
Their appointment is on 8 April. We would book the reservation on 4 or 5 April: Jaipur to Delhi to Munich on 3 May, Munich to Delhi to Jaipur on 12 May, both names on one PNR exactly as the passports print them. The checklist lists a "Flight reservation" and says buying a ticket early does not speed things up,[5] so there is no reason to pay for seats yet. Their hotel bookings and insurance cover 3 to 12 May exactly.
Example: a Sikar family visiting relatives in Dubai
Now a different trip. A mother from Sikar holds an ECR passport and is visiting her son in Dubai for three weeks on a visit visa. The UAE is on the MEA list, and the rule for non-employment travel names a return ticket.[11]
Here we would not sell her a reservation for the airport. Her son should buy a real return fare, perhaps on Air India Express from Jaipur, which flies the Dubai route.[13] If the visa application itself asks for a flight plan before the fare is bought, a reservation can serve at that stage. But at Jaipur airport, she should carry the paid return ticket.

- Read the flight wording on your category's checklist.

When should a Jaipur applicant book?
In the days just before the appointment, not when you first book the slot. Our holds stay live for up to 2 weeks; within that ceiling, the carrier alone sets the length. Got a Monday slot in Delhi? Then the preceding Thursday or Friday is when we would place the order. If your file is with the consulate for weeks and they ask for a current itinerary, place a new order then.
Students and job seekers from Rajasthan
Student and work visas follow their own lists, and flight bookings are rarely part of them at the filing stage. For Germany, long-stay files from Rajasthan go to the New Delhi embassy's district,[3] and the national visa checklist for your category decides what is needed. For Gulf jobs, the ECR rules above point to emigration clearance, not a flight reservation. A legitimate recruiter will handle the ticket as part of the job offer.
Rajasthan applicants heading to Canada
Canada draws plenty of Jaipur families, usually to visit children who study or work there. IRCC's visitor-visa page has an itinerary item: show the officer when you arrive, when you leave and what you will do in between, with flight details named as one example.[10] A reservation with a live PNR is a reasonable way to give those flight details without spending a large sum on a fare that a refusal could strand.
Keep the trip length realistic. If your son's convocation is in June and you plan to stay six weeks, let the reservation show exactly that, and make sure the invitation letter says the same. Canada's visa centres are not in Jaipur; follow IRCC's instructions on where to give biometrics when you apply.
What to carry to a VFS appointment from Jaipur
A long drive to Delhi is a bad time to discover a missing page. For the flight part of the file, we suggest:
- Two printed copies of the reservation, single-sided.
- The PNR and airline name written on your cover letter, in case the officer asks.
- Matching dates across the hotel bookings, insurance and leave letter or business invitation.
- A quick check on the airline's site the evening before, so a lapsed hold never surprises you at the counter.
What to avoid
- Turning up at a Jaipur centre that does not handle your destination.
- Using a reservation as the return ticket for an ECR passport holder's airport check.
- Booking flights weeks early and letting the hold lapse before the officer opens the file.
- Edited or self-made PDFs. If a PNR cannot be retrieved, the document hurts you.
- Spellings that drift from the passport, like a dropped middle name or a swapped surname.

Can I apply for a German Schengen visa from Jaipur?
Yes, if VFS offers a slot. Germany takes short-stay files at any Indian VFS location and has its Mumbai consulate decide them. Check VFS's Germany appointment page for a Jaipur slot. If none appears, use New Delhi. Long-stay German visas are different: Rajasthan belongs to the German Embassy New Delhi's district.
Which US embassy handles Rajasthan?
The US Embassy in New Delhi. Its consular district covers Rajasthan as well as Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and other northern states. The interview happens in Delhi. Flights play no part in it, and Washington's advice is to hold off on fares until the visa is issued.
Is there a Netherlands VFS centre in Jaipur?
Not according to the Dutch government's list in October 2026. It names twelve Indian cities, including New Delhi and Ahmedabad, but not Jaipur. If the Netherlands is your main destination, plan to travel for the appointment. On flights, the Dutch tourism list is relaxed: a reservation is fine and paying in advance is unnecessary.
My mother has an ECR passport. Can she fly to Dubai on your reservation?
No. For ECR holders going to listed countries such as the UAE on a visit visa, the Ministry of External Affairs names a return ticket as one of the documents to produce. Because a seat hold is unpaid, it may fall short of that requirement, and no airline boards a passenger on one. Buy a real return fare.
Can I pay ₹699 with UPI?
Yes. Our Razorpay checkout accepts any UPI handle, including GPay, PhonePe and Paytm, as well as Indian cards and netbanking. The charge is ₹699 for each passenger, single or return. A multi-city route costs ₹699 for every two legs. There is no cash option because we have no shop.
Which route will my Jaipur reservation show for Europe?
Whatever you request, if seats can be held on those dates. Since Jaipur has no direct flight to Europe, most people choose a connection through Delhi or a Gulf hub such as Dubai, Abu Dhabi or Doha. Both read naturally on a visa file, as long as the dates match your other documents.
Should a Jaipur family include flights in a UK visitor application?
Usually not. The UK's own supporting-documents guide places flight bookings in its weaker-evidence group for visitors, transit being the exception. Spend the effort on bank statements, employment proof and your reasons for returning to Jaipur. If you are only changing planes in the UK, the rules on onward travel are different.
