Is a Dummy Ticket Accepted for Qatar Visa Applications?
It depends on your route into Qatar, and the decision belongs to Qatari immigration, not to us. For visa on arrival, Visit Qatar asks for a confirmed round ticket, which an unpaid reservation may not satisfy. For a Hayya e-visa, the listed requirement is a hotel booking. Gulf nationals need no visa at all.

What Qatar's official sources say
Qatar does not publish a single document list. Instead, the Visit Qatar visa checker gives a result for each nationality and residence. We read the result texts on the official page; these are the ones that touch on travel documents.
- Visa on arrival: one result reads that a confirmed round ticket is required and that the passport must be valid for at least three months from arrival.
- Discover Qatar option: another result tells travellers to book a visa-on-arrival eligible hotel stay on Discover Qatar before travel and pay a QAR 100 visa fee at the airport.
- Hayya A1 e-visa: applicants are told to apply on the Hayya portal and that a hotel reservation is required during the application. No flight ticket is mentioned in that text.
- GCC residents: the checker points them to an A2 entry visa on Hayya, with visa on arrival as an alternative.
- GCC citizens: nationals of Gulf Cooperation Council countries do not need a visa to enter Qatar.
Source for all points: visitqatar.com. GCC entry is also confirmed at hayya.qa. We could not get the checker to display the India-specific result reliably, so run it yourself for your passport. Last checked: October 2026.
The honest answer, by situation
| Situation | Is a reservation enough? |
|---|---|
| Hayya A1 e-visa application | The official text asks for a hotel booking, not a ticket. A reservation can help you fix dates but is not listed. |
| Visa on arrival requiring a confirmed round ticket | Probably not. "Confirmed" points to a ticketed booking. Buy a refundable or flexible fare if your result says this. |
| Indian expat in Riyadh or Dubai using A2 via Hayya | We found no official flight requirement. Use a reservation only to plan, and follow what Hayya asks during the form. |
| Saudi, Emirati, Kuwaiti or other GCC citizen | No visa, so no visa document is needed. |
Why we will not say "accepted"
Some sellers claim their tickets are accepted by Qatar. Nobody outside the Ministry of Interior can promise that. A reservation from us is a genuine airline hold with a PNR; whether a particular officer treats it as sufficient is their call. Where the official wording says "confirmed round ticket", our advice is to arrive with a ticket you have paid for.
Example: Fatima, Indian passport, Dubai resident
Fatima wants a long weekend in Doha from 20 January. The checker, run with her Indian passport and UAE residence, sends her to Hayya. She drafts her dates with an AED 33 reservation, books the hotel the form requires, and once approved buys a flexible return fare on the route she prefers.
What to carry when you land at Hamad
Whatever your checker result, arrive with documents that match it: your passport with enough validity, the hotel confirmation if your route requires Discover Qatar or Hayya, and a return or onward ticket you have actually paid for if the wording mentions a confirmed round ticket. Keep the airline paid ticket receipt on your phone and on paper. A held reservation from us belongs in the planning stage, not in the immigration queue.
Running the checker yourself
Open the Visit Qatar visa page, choose your passport and your country of residence, and read the exact result. Save a screenshot with the date. If it asks for anything we have not covered here, that official text wins over any blog, including this one.
Qatar reservation FAQs
Will Qatar immigration accept a flight reservation instead of a ticket?
That is decided at the border. Where Visit Qatar asks for a confirmed round ticket, plan to show a paid ticket rather than a held reservation.
Does the Hayya e-visa ask for a flight ticket?
The official checker text for the A1 entry visa mentions a hotel reservation during the application, not a flight ticket.
Do Saudi or Emirati citizens need any of this?
No. Visit Qatar states that GCC nationals do not need a visa to enter Qatar.
What does a reservation cost for Qatar trips?
₹699 in India, AED 33 in the UAE, SAR 34 in Saudi Arabia, KWD 2.75 in Kuwait, OMR 3.5 in Oman and $9 elsewhere, per passenger.

Dummy ticket price by country
The price follows the country of your phone number, not the destination. One way and round trip cost the same; multi-city itineraries are priced per pair of flights and a hotel booking costs the same per stay.
| Phone number from | Flight reservation |
|---|---|
| India | ₹699 per passenger |
| United Arab Emirates | AED 33 per passenger |
| Saudi Arabia | SAR 34 per passenger |
| Qatar | QAR 33 per passenger |
| Oman | OMR 3.5 per passenger |
| Kuwait | KWD 2.75 per passenger |
| United States and Canada | $9 per passenger |
| United Kingdom | £7 per passenger |
| Everywhere else | $9 per passenger |
Paid through Razorpay by UPI, card or netbanking. The reservation is emailed in about 10 minutes and stays valid for up to 2 weeks; the airline decides the exact period, so book close to your appointment.
What you receive
The same itinerary format the airline itself sends, with a six-character booking reference (PNR) that resolves on the airline's "Manage booking" page. Every reservation shows:
- Passenger names exactly as on the passport
- Airline, flight numbers, dates and times
- Live PNR / booking reference you can check yourself
- Departure and arrival airports
- Class of travel and baggage allowance
Watch: how to book a dummy ticket
A short walkthrough of the booking page, 1 minute 23 seconds with voice-over: enter your route and passengers, pay, and receive your reservation with its PNR by email.
- Route and passengers. Choose one way, round trip or multi-city, pick the airports and dates, and enter names as on the passport.
- Pay. UPI, cards or netbanking through Razorpay.
- Receive your PNR. The reservation arrives by email in about 10 minutes.
Why a live reservation beats a free "ticket generator"
A generated ticket has no PNR. A visa officer who checks it finds nothing, and a refusal for a false document is the hardest kind to appeal.
