Khulna is the seat of a large division with its own university, yet when it comes to foreign visas it depends heavily on Dhaka. Apart from the Indian Visa Application Centre, none of the official pages we checked lists a visa office in Khulna. So for most trips a Khulna resident plans two journeys: one to Dhaka for the appointment, and the real trip later. This page sets out which office handles you, what each official checklist says about flights, how people from Khulna usually reach Dhaka and the international airport, and how to order a reservation from us. We operate online only; we have no Khulna office.
Khulna at a glance

| Netherlands | VFS Global in Dhaka only.[7] |
| Italy | VFS in Dhaka, Chattogram and Sylhet.[9] |
| Canada | Visa centres in Dhaka, Chittagong and Sylhet.[10] |

| Price from us | $9 a traveller, by card on Razorpay |
Where do Khulna residents apply for a visa?
For India, close to home. The IVAC site says Bangladeshi nationals residing in Khulna division may apply at IVAC Khulna.[2] We were not able to load the IVAC site directly in October 2026 to confirm current opening hours, so check it before you go.
For almost everyone else, Dhaka. The Netherlands takes Schengen applications only at its VFS centre in Dhaka.[7] Germany's embassy in Dhaka routes applications through VFS appointments.[5] Italy lists VFS offices in Dhaka, Chattogram and Sylhet, but not Khulna.[9] Canada's official finder gives Dhaka, Chittagong and Sylhet.[10] The US embassy in Dhaka handles visitor visa interviews.[11]
That geography shapes your planning. Build a day or two in Dhaka into your timetable, and order any flight reservation so it is fresh on the day of the Dhaka appointment, not the day you leave Khulna.
India from Khulna: no flight document on the list
The High Commission of India's category-wise list for a tourist visa (T-1) asks for a passport with six months' validity and two blank pages, old passports, a photo, a copy of the National ID or birth certificate, a utility bill as proof of residence, bank statements or a currency endorsement of US$200, and proof of profession.[1] It does not mention air tickets or flight reservations at all. The list adds that the High Commission may ask for more documents.
Many Khulna residents reach India by road anyway. Novoair's own description of the area notes that Jashore links Bangladesh and India through the Benapole border, "the busiest land station of Bangladesh".[3] Our honest advice: for an Indian tourist visa from Khulna, do not buy a flight reservation unless the centre specifically asks you for one.
What do the checklists say about flights?
| Country | Where a Khulna resident files | Flight wording on the official page | Our suggestion |
|---|---|---|---|
| India | IVAC Khulna[2] | No flight item on the tourist list[1] | Not needed |
| Germany | VFS, Dhaka[5] | "Flight reservation or travel itinerary. You do not have to book the flight; you only have to reserve it."[6] | Held reservation |
| Netherlands | VFS, Dhaka[7] | "You do not need a paid travel ticket"[8] | Held reservation |
| Italy | VFS Dhaka, Chattogram or Sylhet[9] | Requirements published via VFS; not retrieved by us | Follow the VFS checklist |
| USA | US Embassy Dhaka[11] | Don't buy tickets before the visa[12] | Not needed |
| UK | VFS (see UKVI booking) | "Flight bookings (unless transiting)" counted as not useful[13] | Usually omit |
Should any list you are given say "confirmed" or "paid", treat that as a higher bar than a seat on hold. Buying a cancellable fare with a refund is the safer answer there.
Dhaka appointment booked?
Order a $9 reservation from Khulna and have it in your email in about 10 minutes.
Germany: "reserve it, don't book it"
The German Embassy in Dhaka is unusually direct. Item 6 of its tourism information sheet reads "Flight reservation or travel itinerary", followed by this line: "You do not have to book the flight; you only have to reserve it."[6] The same item asks for a valid hotel booking with full address and booking reference. Other items include a personal covering letter explaining who pays, a tour plan for the whole stay, and medical insurance of at least EUR 30,000 that is not provided by a credit card.[6]
The embassy also warns that demand is high and that appointment waits and processing times are longer than usual, so plan early.[5] It handles Schengen applications for Estonia only for limited groups of people, so most Estonia trips need a different route.[5]
A held reservation from us is exactly what the German wording describes. Order it a few days before your VFS date in Dhaka.
The Netherlands and Italy from Khulna
Netherlands. You can apply only at VFS in Dhaka, and only if you live in Bangladesh.[7] The same centre also takes Polish Schengen applications.[7] Dutch officials want to see bookings for the way in and the way out under your name, and the checklist is explicit: "You do not need a paid travel ticket."[8]
Italy. The Italian embassy accepts applications exclusively through VFS, with offices in Dhaka (Gulshan 1), Chattogram (Agrabad) and Sylhet.[9] It also processes Schengen applications for Malta and Slovakia.[9] We could not retrieve the current Italian tourist checklist for Bangladesh in October 2026, so follow the VFS list for your category.
If your trip covers several countries, the main destination decides where you apply. Our Schengen guide explains how.
The United States: Dhaka interview and a possible bond
Khulna applicants interview at the US Embassy in Dhaka. One rule here is specific to Bangladeshi passports: nationals of Bangladesh whom the officer finds eligible for a B1/B2 visa have to lodge a bond of up to $20,000 before the visa can be issued, and the officer explains how at the interview.[11] The embassy says to pay the bond only on the website named in the officer's instructions.
On flights, the State Department's guidance is not to buy tickets until you hold the visa.[12] You do not need a reservation for the interview. Our USA visa guide has more.
UK and Canada
UK. UK applications go through VFS; you choose a centre during the online application. Britain's published advice says a flight booking does little for a visit file unless you are passing through in transit.[13] We would not add one. See our UK visa guide.
Canada. IRCC lists visa application centres in Dhaka, Chittagong and Sylhet for biometrics.[10] A reservation is optional for a visitor visa; our Canada guide explains when it helps.
Getting from Khulna to a Dhaka appointment
Most people travel by road or rail, but there is also an air option. Jashore Airport, run by the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh, sits 7 km north of Jashore city. Its only passenger destination is Dhaka, served by Biman Bangladesh Airlines, Novoair and US-Bangla Airlines.[4]
None of this belongs on your visa reservation unless you will really fly it. If you plan to leave Bangladesh from Dhaka and you will travel to Dhaka by bus, the reservation should simply start at DAC. If you want a single itinerary from Jashore through Dhaka, that is possible too, but only include it if it is your real plan.
International routes from Dhaka that suit a Khulna traveller
- Singapore: Singapore Airlines says it flies Dhaka to Singapore nonstop daily, in about 4 hours 5 minutes.[14] A practical link to Europe and Australia.
- Hong Kong: Cathay Pacific sells Dhaka–Hong Kong on its official site.[15]
- Kolkata and Yangon: Novoair lists both as international destinations.[3]
- Gulf hubs: one-stop routings via Doha or Dubai are common for Europe; pick the one you would actually choose.

What gets checked when you leave Bangladesh?
We could not find an official Bangladeshi rule, published online, that requires departing tourists to show a return ticket, so we will not claim one. What certainly applies is the airline's check at Dhaka: staff verify that you hold the visa and documents your destination requires, and some destinations also expect a return or onward ticket on arrival. By then you should be holding a real, paid ticket. Our reservation is for the visa file, not for check-in or for the immigration desk.
For destinations with onward-ticket rules, see our onward ticket page and the guide for Bangladeshi travellers.
Two Khulna examples
A Khulna University lecturer going to a conference in Berlin. Imagine a lecturer invited to a four-day conference in Berlin in March. Germany is the only Schengen country on the trip, so she books a VFS appointment for the German Embassy in Dhaka. Two or three days before the appointment, she orders a reservation for Dhaka to Berlin and back. That meets the information sheet's request to reserve rather than book.[6] She takes the bus to Dhaka the day before, attends, and buys her actual ticket only after the visa is issued.
A Sonadanga family visiting relatives in Kolkata. Now picture a family of three who want two weeks in Kolkata. They apply at IVAC Khulna, as residents of Khulna division.[2] The tourist list asks for utility bills, bank statements and proof of profession but nothing about flights,[1] and they plan to cross at Benapole by road. They do not need anything from us.
Packing your file for the Dhaka trip
Because the appointment is a long way from home, a missing page is costly. Before you leave Khulna, check these:
- The reservation printout, with every traveller's name visible and the PNR easy to find.
- A note of the airline so you can open the booking on your phone if staff ask.
- Consistent dates across the reservation, hotel bookings, insurance and your employer's leave letter.
- Spare copies of your passport data page and National ID, since printing near some centres can be slow.
Give the PNR one last look on the carrier's website after you arrive in Dhaka. A change spotted at the hotel is fixable; one spotted at the VFS counter is not.
How to order from Khulna
- Confirm your office (IVAC Khulna or a Dhaka centre) and the checklist version.
- Enter the itinerary on our booking form, starting from the airport you will really use.
- Copy every name from the passport's data page, spelling included.
- Pay $9 per traveller by card on our Razorpay checkout. Multi-city pricing is on the price page.
- Wait ten minutes or so and the PDF should be in your email.
- Open the PNR on the carrier's site with your family name; see our guide to checking a booking.
Order status is on our tracking page.
When should you order if you live in Khulna?
Count back from the Dhaka appointment, not from your departure from Khulna. The hold runs a fortnight at most, and each airline chooses its own limit within that. Ordering two or three days before the appointment usually leaves it live while VFS forwards your file. Should processing drag on and the mission request fresh travel details, a replacement order at that stage is the answer.
What to avoid
- Buying a reservation for an Indian tourist visa when the list does not ask for one.
- Paying for flights before a US interview, especially when a bond may be required first.
- Ordering too early because the Dhaka trip needs planning. Plan the trip early; order the reservation late.
- Using edited PDFs or generator websites. If the airline cannot find the PNR, leave it out.
- Using a reservation at check-in or at immigration. Buy the real ticket once the visa arrives.
Khulna FAQ
Is there a DummyTicketPrice office in Khulna?
No. We are a website, not a travel agency with branches, so there is no Khulna address to visit. You place the order online, pay $9 per traveller by card through Razorpay, and receive the reservation by email, usually about 10 minutes later. Print it in Khulna or in Dhaka before your appointment.
Do I need a flight booking for an Indian tourist visa from Khulna?
Not according to the High Commission of India's current category-wise list. The tourist visa documents are a passport, photo, ID, utility bill, financial proof and proof of profession, with no flight item. The High Commission says it may request extra documents, so follow any instruction given at IVAC Khulna.
Which German document wording should I follow?
Follow the embassy's own tourism sheet. It accepts either a reservation or an itinerary and tells applicants that reserving is enough; booking is not required. Our held seat with a working PNR is a reservation in exactly that sense. The sheet also asks for hotel reservations with a booking reference and a detailed tour plan.
Can I apply for a Schengen visa in Khulna?
Not at the centres we checked. The Netherlands accepts applications only at VFS Dhaka, Germany works through VFS appointments for its Dhaka embassy, and Italy lists Dhaka, Chattogram and Sylhet. Plan a trip to one of those cities and order your reservation to suit the appointment date.
Can my reservation start from Jashore?
Yes, if you will genuinely fly Jashore to Dhaka and then abroad. The domestic flights to Dhaka are run by Biman, Novoair and US-Bangla. If you will travel to Dhaka by road or train instead, start the reservation at Dhaka, so the itinerary matches what you will actually do.
Will it still be active on my Dhaka appointment day?
It should be, provided you order close to the date. The hold is capped at a fortnight, carriers set their own shorter limits on some fares, and seats can be released early. Order it close to the Dhaka appointment, and look it up on the airline's website the day before to make sure it is still active when you hand in your file.
Order your reservation from Khulna
$9 per passenger, delivered by email, verifiable with the airline.
A fair warning: no flight document guarantees a visa. Describe it truthfully, make every date in the file agree, and accept the mission's judgement.
