China Visa Requirements from Dubai – Dummy Ticket & Documents Checklist
UAE residents applying for a Chinese tourist (L) visa in Dubai submit round-trip air tickets, a hotel reservation and other travel materials, or an invitation letter, plus their UAE residence visa and Emirates ID. A flight reservation from DXB costs AED 33 per passenger, lands in your inbox within roughly ten minutes, PNR included.

The Dubai visa centre's own list
- Where: the Chinese Visa Application Service Center in Dubai is at WAFI Mall, ground floor, Umm Hurair 2. It takes applications on weekdays from 9:00 to 15:00. Source: bio.visaforchina.cn.
- Tourist (L) travel proof: round-trip air tickets, hotel reservation and other travel materials, or an invitation letter from a travel agency or an individual. Source: centre notice, March 2023.
- Non-Emirati applicants: the same notice asks for a copy of your UAE residence visa and Emirates ID and sets a minimum period since the residence visa was issued. Applicants living in the Abu Dhabi consular area are asked for extra proof of address, such as a tenancy contract.
- Online form first: the centre's homepage lists an online application as the step before passport submission. Source: bio.visaforchina.cn.
A word of honesty: the notice says "air tickets". A reservation shows the full round trip with a checkable PNR, but it is not a paid ticket, and the centre or consulate can ask for more. The decision is theirs.

Do you need a visa at all?
| Passport | Position | Source |
|---|---|---|
| UAE citizen | Mutual visa exemption for stays up to 30 days | mofa.gov.ae |
| Saudi, Omani, Kuwaiti, Bahraini | China announced visa-free entry up to 30 days from 9 June 2025 to 8 June 2026; check whether it has been extended | english.www.gov.cn |
| Indian, Pakistani, Filipino and other residents | Apply for an L visa at the Dubai centre | Centre notice above |
| Eligible nationalities in transit | 240-hour visa-free transit to a third country, with onward tickets showing confirmed seats and dates | english.shanghai.gov.cn |
For visa-free transit, the wording "confirmed seats" points to a ticketed booking. A reservation is meant for the visa application, not for the transit desk.
Building the file: Arjun's Shanghai and Beijing trip
Arjun, an Indian accountant in Al Barsha, wants 10 to 20 April 2027 in Shanghai and Beijing. He has held his UAE residence visa for three years.
- He completes the online form with the same dates, listing Shanghai as the entry city.
- He orders a reservation DXB–PVG on 10 April and PEK–DXB on 20 April, choosing multi-city on our booking page.
- Hotels in both cities cover all ten nights.
- At WAFI Mall he submits passport, photo, Emirates ID copy, residence visa copy, flight reservation and hotel confirmations.
- With the visa in hand he buys the real tickets, which need not be the same flights.
Mistakes UAE residents make
- Living in Abu Dhabi but turning up at the Dubai centre without the extra address proof.
- Entering a different entry city on the online form from the one on the flight reservation.
- Assuming a Saudi relative is still visa-free after June 2026 without checking.
What your reservation PDF should show for China
Check four things before printing. The passenger name must match the passport page exactly, including any middle name the online form asks for. The outbound date must fall inside the stay you request, and the return must leave China before your intended exit date. Both legs should appear on one document, because the centre's wording is about a round trip. Finally, the PNR should open on the airline's website the evening before your visit to WAFI Mall. If you live in Sharjah or Ajman, the Dubai centre is the natural choice; residents of Abu Dhabi should read the address-proof rule above before booking an appointment slot.
China visa from Dubai: FAQs
What flight document does the Chinese visa centre in Dubai want?
For a tourist visa, its notice lists round-trip air tickets with a hotel reservation and other travel materials, or an invitation letter instead.
Can I apply in Dubai if I am not an Emirati?
Yes, as a UAE resident. Bring copies of your residence visa and Emirates ID; the centre sets a minimum residence period.
Is a reservation enough for 240-hour visa-free transit?
Probably not. The official wording asks for onward tickets with confirmed seats and departure dates, so carry a paid ticket.
How much is the reservation in the UAE?
AED 33 per passenger for one way or round trip. Hotel bookings are priced per stay, per traveller.

Dummy ticket price by country
The price follows the country of your phone number, not the destination. One way and round trip cost the same; multi-city itineraries are priced per pair of flights and a hotel booking costs the same per stay.
| Phone number from | Flight reservation |
|---|---|
| India | ₹699 per passenger |
| United Arab Emirates | AED 33 per passenger |
| Saudi Arabia | SAR 34 per passenger |
| Qatar | QAR 33 per passenger |
| Oman | OMR 3.5 per passenger |
| Kuwait | KWD 2.75 per passenger |
| United States and Canada | $9 per passenger |
| United Kingdom | £7 per passenger |
| Everywhere else | $9 per passenger |
Paid through Razorpay by UPI, card or netbanking. The reservation is emailed in about 10 minutes and stays valid for up to 2 weeks; the airline decides the exact period, so book close to your appointment.
What you receive
The same itinerary format the airline itself sends, with a six-character booking reference (PNR) that resolves on the airline's "Manage booking" page. Every reservation shows:
- Passenger names exactly as on the passport
- Airline, flight numbers, dates and times
- Live PNR / booking reference you can check yourself
- Departure and arrival airports
- Class of travel and baggage allowance
Watch: how to book a dummy ticket
A short walkthrough of the booking page, 1 minute 23 seconds with voice-over: enter your route and passengers, pay, and receive your reservation with its PNR by email.
- Route and passengers. Choose one way, round trip or multi-city, pick the airports and dates, and enter names as on the passport.
- Pay. UPI, cards or netbanking through Razorpay.
- Receive your PNR. The reservation arrives by email in about 10 minutes.
Why a live reservation beats a free "ticket generator"
A generated ticket has no PNR. A visa officer who checks it finds nothing, and a refusal for a false document is the hardest kind to appeal.
| What the embassy checks | DummyTicketPrice | Free "ticket generator" | Buying a real ticket |

| PNR resolves on the airline website | Yes: a live reservation | No PNR | Yes |

| If the visa is refused | Only the ₹699 / $9 fee | Refusal for false documents | Cancellation fees |
