How to Get a Dummy Ticket for Indonesia Visa
Indonesia's immigration FAQ lists a return ticket, or an onward ticket to another country, among the e-VOA documents. A flight reservation with a live PNR covers that: enter your Bali or Jakarta dates, pay ₹699 in India or $9 elsewhere, and upload the PDF that reaches your inbox in about ten minutes.

What Indonesia's immigration pages actually ask for
- Indonesia's Directorate General of Immigration lists a return ticket or onward ticket to continue traveling to another country among the documents for both the Visa on Arrival and the e-VOA. Source: imigrasi.go.id visa FAQ.
- The same FAQ separates the two routes: the e-VOA is requested online before you fly, while the VOA is obtained at an immigration checkpoint when you land.
- India, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates all appear on the FAQ's list of nationalities eligible for the e-VOA.
- Applications are made on the official portal, evisa.imigrasi.go.id. The FAQ page we read did not state a fee or a permitted length of stay, so confirm both on the portal before you pay.
Last checked: October 2026. Indonesian rules can change at short notice; the portal is the final word.
e-VOA or VOA: where your flight document fits
| Route | When you apply | What happens to the flight evidence |
|---|---|---|
| e-VOA | Online, before departure | You upload the itinerary PDF with the application |
| VOA | At the immigration counter on arrival | Officers can ask to see the onward or return booking in person |
| Other visit visas | Through the same official portal | Follow the document list displayed for that visa type |
Booking the reservation, step by step
- Pick the arrival airport you will really use. Most leisure trips land at Denpasar (DPS) for Bali or Soekarno–Hatta (CGK) for Jakarta. Name the same city on the application form.
- Make the second leg leave the country. Bali back to Mumbai, or on to Singapore or Kuala Lumpur, matches the wording about another country. A Bali–Jakarta hop does not.
- Copy names from the passport data page. Given names and surname should appear in the same order and spelling as on the passport you will travel with.
- Pay and check your inbox. The PDF arrives in roughly ten minutes with a PNR you can open on the airline's Manage booking page. Because the hold window is displayed before payment, order shortly before you submit the e-VOA.
- Carry a printout. Even with an approved e-VOA, airline staff at your departure airport may ask how you plan to leave Indonesia.
A worked example: three travellers from Mumbai
Priya, her husband and their teenage son plan ten nights split between Ubud and Seminyak. They request BOM–DPS on 14 December and DPS–BOM on 24 December, one reservation carrying three names. At ₹699 per passenger the flight part costs ₹2,097. They add a villa booking, which we price per stay per traveller, and upload the flight PDF to each person's e-VOA application that evening.
Mistakes that slow Indonesian applications
- Offering an internal Indonesian flight as the "onward" journey.
- Choosing a return date beyond the stay the portal grants for your visa type.
- Booking one family PNR but typing a child's name differently on the e-VOA form.
- Treating the reservation as a ticket. It cannot be checked in, so buy the real fare before you fly.
Living in the Gulf? The same reservation can start in Dubai, Riyadh or Doha, priced locally at AED 33, SAR 34 or QAR 33 per passenger.
Indonesia visa: flight booking questions
Is a flight reservation enough for the Indonesian e-VOA?
The immigration FAQ asks for a return or onward ticket without saying it must be paid. A reservation with a live PNR shows your exit plan; if your airline insists on a paid onward fare at check-in, you will need to buy one.
Can I show a flight to Singapore instead of a return to India?
Yes. The FAQ also accepts an onward ticket to another country, so Bali to Singapore or Kuala Lumpur works, provided you are allowed to enter that country.
I live in Dubai. Can I apply for the e-VOA with a reservation from there?
Eligibility depends on your passport, not where you live. Indian, Saudi and Emirati nationals are on the e-VOA list, and a reservation starting in Dubai costs AED 33 per passenger.
What if my Bali dates change after the e-VOA is issued?
Contact support for a corrected reservation before you travel, then buy your actual ticket. Keep the validity shown on your e-VOA in mind when moving dates.

Dummy ticket price by country
The price follows the country of your phone number, not the destination. One way and round trip cost the same; multi-city itineraries are priced per pair of flights and a hotel booking costs the same per stay.
| Phone number from | Flight reservation |
|---|---|
| India | ₹699 per passenger |
| United Arab Emirates | AED 33 per passenger |
| Saudi Arabia | SAR 34 per passenger |
| Qatar | QAR 33 per passenger |
| Oman | OMR 3.5 per passenger |
| Kuwait | KWD 2.75 per passenger |
| United States and Canada | $9 per passenger |
| United Kingdom | £7 per passenger |
| Everywhere else | $9 per passenger |
Paid through Razorpay by UPI, card or netbanking. The reservation is emailed in about 10 minutes and stays valid for up to 2 weeks; the airline decides the exact period, so book close to your appointment.
What you receive
The same itinerary format the airline itself sends, with a six-character booking reference (PNR) that resolves on the airline's "Manage booking" page. Every reservation shows:
- Passenger names exactly as on the passport
- Airline, flight numbers, dates and times
- Live PNR / booking reference you can check yourself
- Departure and arrival airports
- Class of travel and baggage allowance
Watch: how to book a dummy ticket
A short walkthrough of the booking page, 1 minute 23 seconds with voice-over: enter your route and passengers, pay, and receive your reservation with its PNR by email.
- Route and passengers. Choose one way, round trip or multi-city, pick the airports and dates, and enter names as on the passport.
- Pay. UPI, cards or netbanking through Razorpay.
- Receive your PNR. The reservation arrives by email in about 10 minutes.
Why a live reservation beats a free "ticket generator"
A generated ticket has no PNR. A visa officer who checks it finds nothing, and a refusal for a false document is the hardest kind to appeal.
| What the embassy checks | DummyTicketPrice | Free "ticket generator" | Buying a real ticket |
|---|---|---|---|
| PNR resolves on the airline website | Yes: a live reservation | No PNR | Yes |
| Cost per passenger | ₹699 / $9 | Free | The full fare at risk |
| Delivery | About 10 minutes by email | Instant | Instant |
| If the visa is refused | Only the ₹699 / $9 fee | Refusal for false documents | Cancellation fees |
| Order accuracy | Issued exactly as entered; check before paying | — | Change fees |
