When your itinerary, hotel, insurance, cover letter and form tell different stories
The officer at VFS Global Bangalore does not read documents one by one. An officer at the counter once told an applicant from Kadri, 'Your form says you leave on 4 March, your insurance starts on 6 March, and your hotel ends on 2 March. Which one is correct?' That question is avoidable.
Start with the itinerary. Your departure date from IXE or Bengaluru, your arrival date abroad, and your return date form the spine. The hotel booking must begin on the day you land and end on the day you fly out. Travel insurance must start on the departure date, not later, and cover the entire stay, including the return day.
The cover letter must repeat the same dates in plain sentences. Your visa application form carries those dates too. One mismatch between the form and the itinerary is usually enough to trigger a query, and a query can delay the passport by weeks.
Names must also agree. The reservation shows the name exactly as on the passport. The hotel booking should carry the lead passenger's name. Insurance must show all travellers. If a spouse or child is added later, their documents must be redone, not adjusted by hand.
Round trip or one way does not matter as long as the story is consistent. A one-way itinerary with a return hotel booking is a red flag. A round-trip itinerary with a one-way insurance cover is another. Make one table on a sheet of paper, list the five documents, and write the same dates against each. If any row differs, fix the document, not the story.
