How long a held PNR lasts and when to order yours

An airline does not keep a reservation open for months. After we place your hold, the carrier typically releases it within a few days, and sometimes up to about two weeks. The exact window is decided by the airline, not by us. We cannot extend it, and we cannot stop the system from clearing it. So the safe approach is simple: order your cheap dummy ticket in Mangalore one to three days before your appointment at VFS Global Bangalore.

If your slot is on a Friday morning, place the order on Tuesday evening or Wednesday. That leaves room for a weekend in between and still keeps the PNR live when the officer opens it. Ordering three weeks early is the most common mistake. The applicant prints the PDF, files it away, attends the appointment on day 20, and the reservation is gone. The officer sees a cancelled segment, and the file is questioned.

What if your visa date shifts? Holds do not follow you. A new appointment date means a fresh paid order. We cannot edit, amend or re-issue a reservation once it has been issued. The ticket is generated exactly as you typed it. So before you pay, check the spelling of every name, the route, and the travel dates against your passport and your cover letter. That one check saves a second payment.

Most applicants simply book a dummy air ticket the day before submission.

Three Mangalore files and how the timing worked

Poornima from Kadri, family Schengen file

Poornima had a 10.30 am slot at VFS Global Bangalore for a four-member family Schengen application. She ordered on a Monday night, received the four PNRs in one email by 11 pm, printed them Tuesday, and took the overnight KSRTC Airavat to Bangalore. The officer checked the PNRs against the passports and moved on. Her words: the printout looked like any other itinerary. She paid ₹2,396 for four passengers.

Nigel from Surathkal, UK visitor visa, two days out

Nigel booked a UK standard visitor slot on a Wednesday for Friday. He had forgotten the flight reservation entirely. He ordered on Wednesday at 4 pm, got the return hold by 4.12 pm, and took a print at a shop near Hampankatta. The appointment went through. He later said the ten-minute delivery was the only reason he made the slot.

Ashraf from Kankanady, US B1/B2, rescheduled once

Ashraf first ordered for a 4 March appointment. The consulate pushed him to 22 March. His original hold had already lapsed. He placed a fresh order on 20 March, paid again, and carried the new PNR. He learned two things: holds are short, and dates cannot be changed on an issued reservation.

What a dummy ticket really is inside the airline system

Start at the airline end, not with the PDF. When we create your reservation, we place a booking in the airline's own system. That booking gets a six-character PNR, also called a record locator. The PNR holds your name, the route, the dates and the flight numbers. It is visible to any airline staff member or visa officer who opens the system. What it does not have is an e-ticket number. No ticket has been purchased, so no ticket number is issued. You cannot board a flight with it.

That combination is exactly what a visa officer wants. The PNR proves you have a plan to leave the country, but it does not prove you have paid. For a US B1/B2, a UK visitor visa, a Schengen short-stay, a Canada TRV or an Australia visitor visa, the checklist usually asks for a flight itinerary or reservation, not a paid ticket. A held PNR fits that instruction.

Two checks matter. First, the name on the PNR must match the passport exactly, including middle names and the order of names. Second, the dates must agree with your hotel booking and your cover letter. An officer in Bangalore reads the whole file as one story. If the flight says you enter on 12 April and the hotel says 14 April, you will be asked why. We issue the reservation exactly as entered, so type carefully.

The team behind DummyTicketPrice, based in Mangaluru

We are a small Mangaluru team. Our office has been issuing flight reservations since 2019. In that time we have created more than 1.2 lakh reservations for applicants across Karnataka, and for Indians in the Gulf and Singapore. The work is done here, not farmed out. When you message our WhatsApp number, a person in Mangaluru replies.

How the reservation is actually created: we log into airline and consolidator systems and build a live booking for your route and dates. The system returns a PNR. We pull that PNR into a clean itinerary PDF and email it to you. No ticket number is issued, because no ticket is bought. You get a document that airline staff can look up and verify.

We keep the price flat. ₹599 per passenger, or $7 for overseas cards, whether one way or round trip, adult or child. There is no charge for the email, no charge for a second copy. We do not offer changes or corrections on issued reservations. That rule is firm and applies to everyone, paid or free. It exists because airline systems do not allow clean edits once a PNR is created. So the form is where you do your careful work.

After the visa is approved, what to do with the reservation

Once the visa is stamped, the dummy reservation has done its job. Book your real ticket directly with the airline or through a travel agent. Do not try to convert the held PNR into a paid ticket through us. We do not issue tickets. The airline may allow you to ticket the same PNR if it is still live, but that depends on the fare rules and the carrier, and you would do it with them, not with us.

Expect the real fare to be different from anything you saw in the itinerary. The prices printed on a held PNR are indicative. Actual fares move with demand. For a Mangalore to London return on a peak date, you might pay ₹68,000 to ₹95,000. For a Mangalore to Dubai return, ₹22,000 to ₹38,000 is common. Book early if your travel dates are fixed.

Refunds do not apply here. You paid ₹599 for a reservation service, and that service was delivered. The airline released the hold in its own time, as it does for every held booking. If your visa is refused, you do not get the ₹599 back, because the reservation was used in your file. Plan for that. Most applicants treat it as a document cost, like the visa fee or the courier charge.

The ₹200 Telegram PDF against our ₹599 held PNR

Type dummy ticket into Instagram or Telegram and you will see offers at ₹200, sometimes ₹150. What are you buying? In most cases, a generated PDF. Someone runs a script that produces a flight-looking itinerary with a made-up PNR. No airline system has that record. There is no booking, no segment, no passenger name record. It is a picture of a reservation.

Officers catch this quickly. At a visa centre, staff open the airline system and type the PNR. A generated number returns no record. Some fake PDFs use a real airline's code but a PNR format the airline stopped using years ago. Others show a flight number that does not operate on that day of the week. A trained eye spots that in seconds. The result is usually a refusal or a request for more documents, and the visa fee is lost.

For ₹599 you get something different. A live PNR in the airline system, created by us, checkable by anyone. The extra ₹399 is the cost of a reservation that actually exists. We send it by email in about ten minutes. You can test it yourself: call the airline's local number or open the airline's website and enter the PNR with your surname. If it shows your route, the officer will see the same thing.

Five reasons applicants from Mangalore choose our reservations

  1. One flat price of ₹599 per passenger. Return or one way, adult or child, the figure does not change. Four passengers cost ₹2,396, not a rupee more.
  2. Delivery in about 10 minutes. Most orders placed before 10 pm IST are emailed the same evening. That is fast enough for a next-morning slot at VFS Global Bangalore.
  3. Live PNRs, not generated PDFs. Every reservation is created inside an airline or consolidator system. You can verify it before you print it.
  4. 1.2 lakh reservations issued since 2019. Our team in Mangaluru has handled files for US, UK, Schengen, Canada, Australia and Japan visas, and we know what each checklist usually expects.
  5. WhatsApp support from the same city. If your PNR does not show online, message us. We will check the system and tell you what the airline shows, in plain language, without a call centre queue.

The booking form, payment and the email you receive

Open the booking page on our website and fill the short form. The fields are: full name exactly as printed on the passport, passport number if you wish to add it, date of birth, mobile number, email address, departure city, destination city, departure date, return date if you need a round trip, number of passengers, and any frequent flyer number you want included. There is a box for notes, which is where you can name a preferred airline if you have one.

You can also upload the passport bio page. The form reads the machine-readable zone and auto-fills the names. Check what it fills. Names on Indian passports sometimes appear in a different order from how you write them daily. If the passport says Sharma Rahul Kumar, that is what goes into the PNR.

Payment is through Razorpay. You can use UPI, a debit card, a credit card, net banking or a wallet. The amount is ₹599 per passenger. For cards issued outside India, the charge is $7 per passenger. Once payment succeeds, the order enters our queue.

We email the itinerary PDF, usually within 10 minutes. The email contains the PNR, the airline name, the flight numbers, the departure and arrival times, the terminal details where available, and the passenger names. Print it on A4. Carry one copy in the file and one spare in your bag.

Four steps from your phone in Mangalore to a held PNR

  1. Fill the form. Enter every passenger's name as on the passport, the route, and the exact travel dates. Upload the passport if you want the names auto-filled. Check the preview before you pay.
  2. Pay ₹599 per passenger through Razorpay. Use UPI or a card. The payment confirms the order and locks the details you typed.
  3. We build the reservation in the airline system and pull the PNR. This is the live record the visa officer will look up. It usually takes a few minutes.
  4. You receive the itinerary PDF by email, normally within 10 minutes. Print it, check the PNR on the airline website, and carry it to VFS Global Bangalore with the rest of your documents.

What Mangalore applicants say about us

★★★★★

My US B1/B2 slot at VFS Global Bangalore was on 14 November. I ordered on the 12th at night and had the PNR by 11 pm. The officer asked for the itinerary, typed the PNR and said the booking was showing. No questions after that. ₹599 well spent.

Needed a UK visitor visa itinerary for a 22 September appointment. Ordered at 9 am, PDF came at 9.11 am. The VFS staff at Bangalore checked the return leg and matched the dates to my hotel booking. Everything agreed. I had worried the price was too low, but the PNR was real.

Clinton D'SouzaSurathkal, Mangalore · September 2025
★★★★☆

Booked a Schengen reservation for a 3 July slot in Bangalore. Delivery took about 15 minutes, slightly longer than the 10 minutes stated. The PNR worked and the officer accepted it. One tip: check your name spelling before paying. A friend of mine had to reorder because of a middle name issue.

Questions applicants type before ordering

Is a cheap dummy ticket in Mangalore accepted at VFS Global Bangalore?

Usually yes, when it is a live PNR. VFS staff check the reservation in the airline system. If the record exists and the name matches the passport, it meets the itinerary requirement for most US, UK, Schengen, Canada and Australia visa files. A generated PDF with a fake PNR is normally rejected. Order 1 to 3 days before your appointment so the hold is still live.

How long does the reservation stay valid?

The airline decides. In practice, a held PNR lasts a few days and at most about two weeks. We cannot extend it. If your appointment is 10 days away, ordering now is risky. Order 1 to 3 days before. If your date moves, you will need a fresh paid order because we cannot amend an issued reservation.

Can I use the same dummy ticket for a US B1/B2 and a UK visitor visa?

Usually you can use one reservation for more than one file if the travel dates and route suit both. The PNR is a single live record. But if the two applications need different dates, you need two orders. Each order is ₹599 per passenger. We cannot change a reservation after it is issued, so plan the dates before you pay.

What if the officer calls the airline to check my PNR?

The airline will confirm the booking exists. It will also say no ticket has been issued. That is expected. Visa checklists typically ask for a reservation or itinerary, not a paid ticket. The officer is checking that you have a real plan to travel and return, not that you have spent money on a fare. A live PNR answers that.

How fast will I get the PDF after payment?

Usually within 10 minutes. Orders placed late at night may arrive the next morning. If you have a slot at VFS Global Bangalore at 8 am and you are ordering at 11 pm from Mangalore, message us on WhatsApp. We will tell you honestly whether we can deliver before your slot. We do not promise times we cannot keep.

Can I change the date or spelling after the order?

No. We issue the reservation exactly as entered. There are no changes, revisions, corrections or re-issues, free or paid. If a name is misspelt or a date is wrong, you must place a fresh order and pay again. This is why the form shows a preview. Read it against the passport before paying.

Do you issue tickets for IndiGo, Air India or Emirates?

We place holds on most major carriers, including IndiGo, Air India, Emirates, Qatar Airways, Lufthansa, British Airways and Singapore Airlines. Availability depends on the route and date. If your preferred airline is not available, we will usually offer an alternative on the same route. You can note a preference in the form, but we cannot guarantee a specific carrier.
